Our expertise includes repairing and restoring historic locks, manufacturing bespoke components, handcrafting replacement keys and reproducing locks and architectural ironmongery to match original designs.

Bespoke Lock Manufacturing

When an original or suitable replacement lock is no longer available, Keith Carrier & Son can manufacture a bespoke solution using traditional locksmithing and engineering skills. This can include reproducing an existing or historic lock, handcrafting individual components, or manufacturing a completely new mechanism to suit a specific door, cabinet, gate or specialist application. Each piece can be carefully made to replicate the design, operation and character of the original where required.

Bespoke Key Cutting

Where a suitable replacement key is no longer available, Keith Carrier & Son can manufacture a new key by hand using the original lock, mechanism or an existing pattern as a reference. This specialist approach allows us to recreate keys for historic, antique, obsolete and unusual locks, including complex mechanisms where modern replacements simply don’t exist, while preserving the function and character of the original hardware.
